I'm presently on holiday so
these updates will be brief. More photos and information will be
posted later this month upon my return home. This past week there
were several events that Vincent attended but, most importantly, I
wanted to share this news on his major upcoming project - ALONE
IN BERLIN.
CANNES (May 14, 2014) –
Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson, and renowned actors Daniel
Brühl and Mark Rylance have been confirmed to star in Vincent
Perez’s "Alone in Berlin".

X-Filme’s Stefan Arndt and Uwe Schott,
and Master Movie’s Marco Pacchioni are producing together with
James Schamus with a screenplay written by Achim von Borries and
Vincent Perez. The film will be co-produced by FilmWave’s Christian Grass and Paul Trijbits who are also handling
the UK rights. X-Filme retains the German rights and Master Movie
the French rights, with Alison Thompsons’ Sunray Films handling
international sales and distribution for all other territories.
Joining the production team are cinematographer Stéphan Fontaine,
editor Francois Gédigier and production designer Jean-Vincent Puzos.
Marco Pacchioni said, "It’s been a long journey since I bought the
rights to the novel with Vincent Perez seven years ago. I am happy
to see so many great actors, producers and distributors join us on
our adventure to bring this extraordinary work to the big screen."
"Alone in Berlin" will commence pre-production later this year in
Germany.

The photos below show Vincent
participating in the opening ceremony of the 4th annual Chinese
Film Festival in France. The event was hosted by Vincent and
Anne Fontaine at the Gaumont Cinema on the Champs Elysees. Actresses
Catherine Deneuve and Xia Zitong also participated in opening the
festival. More photos can be found
at this link.

On May 13, Vincent attended an
exclusive pre-opening tour of the Ilya and Emilia Kabakov's
exhibition called "A Strange City" at the Grand Palais. A
gala dinner and auction followed, benefitting the Naked Heart
Foundation and Monumenta.

On the same day Vincent
participated in a French demonstration at the Tracadero in support
for the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls. Other celebs
participating were Jane Birkin, Elsa Zylberstein, Lea Seydoux and
Carla Bruni. [5/30: also participating was Vincent's wife]
